Dumitha graduated from Bhatkande Sangeet Vidya Peeth – Lucknow, India in North Indian Classical Dance (Kathak). Other than his profession, he has worked as an external lecturer for Masters’ Degree in Arts (Indian Dancing) in University of Kelaniya – Sri Lanka.
Bio
Dumitha Gunawardana is a graduate of B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) Civil Engineering. Later He has graduated in Masters’ degree in Environmental Engineering. Dumitha has started his engineering career in 2008 from State Development & Co – Operation and currently he is working at National Water Supply & Drainage Board as a Design Engineer.

Dumitha graduated from Bhatkande Sangeet Vidya Peeth – Lucknow, India in North Indian Classical Dance (Kathak). Other than his profession, he has worked as an external lecturer for Masters’ Degree in Arts (Indian Dancing) in University of Kelaniya – Sri Lanka.
Dumitha has begun learning North Indian Classical Music when he was 8 years old and later started learning Sitar (a string instrument). He has achieved the 1st place continuously three times in All Sri Lanka Inter School Music Competitions in 2000, 2001 & 2002 under the category of “Sitar – Solo”. Dumitha started learning Sitar under his school’s music teacher Mrs. Indrani Wikramasuriya and later pursued under Mr. Pradeep Ratnayaka. While he was following his B.Sc Civil Engineering degree at University of Engineering & Technology – Lahore - Pakistan, he has continued learning Sitar under Ustad Saleem Khan Paunchwale and won the Gold Medal in All Pakistan Music Competitions for Sitar – Solo in 2007.
Dumitha started learning Kathak Dancing under Prof. Jayasena Kottagoda (former Vice chancellor of University of Visual & Fine Arts – Sri Lanka) in 2000 and continued under Ms. Naila Riyaz in Lahore - Pakistan. Later, Dumitha started to learn under Pandit. Rajendra Kumar Gangani who is an exponent in Jaipur Style of Kathak.
